Policies & Selection
Keeping in mind the objective of KUFC
Youth, there are a number of policies that have been
outlined to help ensure the future success of the Club.
These policies relate to age, player trials, selection
criteria, class size, and on-going player assessment.
Selection Process
All applicants to KUFC Youth should have a
desire to become footballers and be willing to work hard
to achieve this goal. Coaching sessions are planned in
advance and address finite details on how to improve
player technique and develop each player’s ‘football
brain’. Given this level of attention and detail, keeping
a small class size allows coaches to work individually
with players to address their needs. To date, we have kept
the class size of each group to no more than 20
participants.
Players in the age bracket of 5-14 are
encouraged to apply for selection into KUFC Youth.
The selection criterion varies broadly with
different age groups but some elements that are important
and common across all groups are:
1. Enthusiasm & Discipline
2. Athleticism (Speed, Agility,
Quickness)
3. Physical Strength
4. Good Passing & Control Technique
Players that express an interest are
invited for a trial. Depending on the assessment of this
trial, a player is invited to an extended 4 week trial or
informed of improvement areas that need to be addressed
before applying again. In all cases, the decision taken by
KUFC Youth is final.
Player assessments are conducted twice a
year. Any player found lacking in commitment (i.e.
regularly missing practices, not applying themselves
during practices) is issued a warning letter, after which
he will is judged for a month to see if there is
improvement. Lacking any improvement, the player is
released from the Club.

It is important for all applicants to
understand that KUFC Youth takes its objective very
seriously. To consistently produce talent capable of
playing in the Club’s senior team requires hard work and
dedication by both the coaching staff and players. Above
everything, you need a good attitude and to try your best.
If you believe that you
have the skills and the attitude to succeed as a
footballer, we would love to hear from you. Please write a
small profile about yourself including your age, team you
play for, position you play on the team and your strengths
and send an email to
usman.iqbal@karachiunitedfc.com
and
adeel.rizki@karachiunitedfc.com
and look for the next trial date on our website.
Good luck
